On Your Marks Events have teamed up with The National Trust, Stowe School and Stowe Enterprise to bring you this sprint, standard and middle distance triathlon in the stunning grounds of Stowe House and Gardens.
A visitor attraction since the 18th century, Stowe House and Landscape Gardens form one of the greatest estates in Europe and have welcomed many literary, political and influential people as well as royals from around Europe. The Landscape Gardens have been developed by the National Trust since 1989 to restore the forty listed monuments and temples and increase access for the public. Today, Stowe House is open to the public and allows a unique glimpse into the Neo-Classical world of Stowe.
Middle distance swimmers set off in first waves on a 3 lap course. Olympic and sprint distance swimers set off in further waves for one or two laps around the lake. Running shoes placed in a numbered bag and racked at the swim transition area near the swim exit point ready to pull on for the 1km run through the golf course up to the main transition area..
Following T1 the bike route exits Stowe Gardens along the tree lined Oxford Avenue and follows a route through Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire villages of Chackmore, Akeley, Whittlebury, and Silverstone, passing the famous Silverstone Circuit. Sprint distance competitors will complete one circuit, olympic distance two, and middle distance 3 circuits. .
The run route winds its way around most of the 40 temples and monuments and lakes of Stowe Gardens. Sprint distance runners complete this once, olympic distance twice and the middle distance five times before finishing on the North Lawn in front of the magnificent Stowe House.
